Craftsmanship as a driver of economic development for disadvantaged communities.

Me, VERONICA BEVIVINO

Designer and artisan, I love combining materials, from sisal to wood, coconut to clay, stones to metals, natural finds to recycled materials of all kinds.

My curiosity has always driven me to experiment with all kinds of materials and tools.

From goldsmithing in Italy, my journey led me to work alongside disadvantaged communities in Madagascar, where I have lived for the past 28 years. It has been a life journey that has allowed me to receive and to give, to learn and to understand, and to redefine my essential values.

After more than 20 years of concrete action in the fields of craftsmanship, fishing, education and health, I have now launched my brand, Kirea, so that I can pursue my passion for creating art while continuing to support local communities.

KIREA

Craftsmanship as a driver of economic development for disadvantaged communities.

Kirea was born from a desire to continue supporting the women artisans of southern Madagascar. With their unique know-how, they deserve our recognition and support.

Each of the artisans involved has her own specialty: some weave sisal, others work with reeds, while others are seamstresses or create with dried seeds.

We work alongside them, encouraging innovation and creativity in order to preserve and celebrate local craftsmanship.

This is why we are here: to bring together the work of these women artisans under one brand, Kirea.

At Kirea, we combine traditional local techniques with a creative design touch.

A variety of local raw materials are used and blended together according to their characteristics, colours, textures and beauty.

KIREA JEWELLERY

For our fashion jewellery, we use a range of materials: wood, coconut, polymer clay, recycled aluminium, seeds, shells, and cords made from linen, bamboo and sisal fibres.

All metal components are guaranteed to be hypoallergenic and are sourced from Europe.

Each piece is unique. Our jewellery reflects today’s trends, where gold and precious stones are giving way to simple, natural materials and more expressive designs that speak to the women and men of today.

Jewellery orders are placed by style, as each piece differs from the next.

Shapes, colours and assemblies vary, guaranteeing the handmade nature of every piece.
